Garick Receives Northeast Ohio Leading Edge Award

05/30/08

(CLEVELAND, OH) Garick, a nationwide distributor and processor of sustainable natural resource products, is proud to announce that it is a recipient of the prestigious LEADING EDGE Award, an award that identifies existing mid-marketing companies in Northeast Ohio that are creating great value for themselves as well as for the region. Garick was informed in April that it was a winner; a formal announcement, along with an awards banquet, was on May 21.

Winners of the EDGE Awards were identified through a nomination process for having created the most value for themselves and the region based on 2007 employee compensation and EBIT figures.  Companies were selected based not only on their contribution to the Northeast Ohio economy, but also on their level of impact.

Gary P. Trinetti, President and CEO of Garick, says, “It is an honor to be recognized for the impact we are making on Northeast Ohio with this award. It is our goal to continue our support of the region though economic development, community involvement, and environmental awareness.”

One such way Garick has grown this past year is by the expansion of the Solutions Provider team. Since July 2007, Garick has appointed three new associates to this team: John C. Gundlach as Vice President of Sustainable Environmental and Energy Group, Michael R. Marsollek as Vice President of Biomass Development, and Peter W. Klaich as Senior Organics Program Manager. Combined, the team has experience in many facets of the industry including biosolids, composting, recycling, byproduct management, renewable energy, and others. Garick continues to work closely with many universities, trade associations, industry groups, and government groups on sustainability and organics recycling issues. With the expansion of this team, Garick is becoming one of the leaders in its industry having a positive impact on the environment and local economy.
